These two were made for each other…

Clearly it’s been too long since my last Becca Steele novel because I’ve been missing out. I loved this new novel. The characters were great. I loved their back and forth. They were perfect together. Their story took my heart for a ride right along with them. Happy, sad, over the moon – I felt it all for them. Now I’ve got to go through the rest of the series for sure.

It’s oh so wrong but oh so right…

JJ is the life of the party. Always upbeat, colorful, and going after what he wants. He dances as part of his major at LSU, as his job at the club, on the stage, and in the studio. And he has the most adorable relationship with his grandmother. On the flip side Killian would rather most people leave him alone while he eats lunch at his desk preparing to give his next lecture. His friend circle is small and he hates feeling obligated to attend social events in the attempt to work his way up the ladder to be head of the LSU business department.

But what they say about opposites attracting must be true. It’s only after their one night together that they discover their student/professor connection to LSU. Even though they’re both in different departments some might see that as a bit taboo. So even though they feel there can’t possibly be a future for them, they also can’t keep away.

In this third full book in the LSU world we get to see JJ set his sights on the one man he can’t stop thinking about. Their story got me all up in my feels. Throughout their situationship they each have to come to grips with what is most important in their lives and in their futures. I absolutely loved these two. And they might just be my favorite duo of the series. But don’t you dare actually make me choose!

AUDIOBOOK UPDATE: OMG! The narrators for the audiobook version did such an amazing job. Absolutely fantastic! Their sexy British voices. The variety and personality they brought to not only the main characters but the side characters too. The emotion and passion they brought to the story took it to a whole new level. I loved the story when I read it the first time around but now after listening to this version, I love it even more.

Let the healing begin…

This book is a beautiful blend of the present timeline mixed with scenes of Zayde and Fallon finding each other as kids. We get to see how they started and how Zayde got to be how we know him from the previous books in the series. He’s the last to find his match when really he was the first and no one else knew.

Zayde grew up in the poor part of town alone with his single mother. When she takes him on a cleaning job with her to a rich community, it’s there he meets Fallon. Neither of them cares about what makes them different, because they just connect. That all changes when his mother discovers Zayde’s father is actually loaded. She makes a deal to send him off to be with his father while she remains behind to spend his father’s money on drugs.

As it turns out Zayde’s father and his friends have a long standing rivalry with Fallon’s father. This results in their children following that same path. So their relationship continues to be a secret. But it’s a tragic event that truly pulls them apart.

Years later they find themselves back in the same orbit with so many dark and mixed feelings standing in their way. Their journey to rediscover the truth and their true feelings is full of ups and downs. Lies, betrayal, and greed try to pull them apart.

They both have tortured pasts that they deal with on both the physical and emotional levels. They have a second chance to make things right and to not stay hidden. I loved these two together. Even when it’s hard they can’t fight their inevitability.
