Protective and tatted hotness…

Charleigh finds her way into River’s tattoo shop to get a little reminder of all she’s been through and fights to overcome. Even after they part ways, neither can stop thinking of the other and the mark he left on her.

When River’s little boy takes a tumble, they meet again as Charleigh is the one to help them at the clinic. Nolan has got to be the most adorable, loveable little boy ever and immediately melts her heart (and mine). And it turns out the flower shop owner Charleigh has befriended in the short time she’s been in town is none other than River’s younger sister.

River recognizes that Charleigh is running from a troubled past that is still out to get her. He’s ready to protect her no matter what. And she’s just so tired of running all the time, not truly ready to leave what she’s already found in Moonlit Ridge.

River and Charleigh quickly build a connection via texts playing 20 questions. That grows and evolves to the point of building trust. So when trouble makes an appearance for Charleigh, she runs to River for help. He is fierce, loyal, and protective even if he feels he can’t keep her because of his secretive and dangerous life.

It really feels like fate is pulling River, Nolan, Charleigh, and their whole found family together. These two were so perfect for each other. And no one can resist little Nolan and his absolutely adorable personality. This was a great start to a new series. And this was my first AL Jackson book but now I want to go back and read the series this new one spins off from. So good.

Moonlit Ridge #2

Forbidden but Meant-To-Be…

We all felt the chemistry between Otto and Raven in book one of this series. Since Otto is the best friend of Raven’s brother and he’s older than her, they both recognize that a relationship between them is forbidden territory. But they can really only lie to themselves for so long before they can no longer fight their feelings for each other.

After Raven walks in on a scene she never wanted to see involving her brother, she realizes it’s time to find a place of her own. In the meantime Otto offers her refuge at his place, even if there’s only one bedroom and this burly bear of a man is way to big for sleeping on the sofa.

Otto is tracking down his enemies in secret, keeping his revenge and justice from his band of brothers. But while he’s stalking his prey, Raven finds herself in someone else’s dangerous sights. Otto will do anything and everything to protect her. Even if that means he might have to go against her brother to finally claim her.

All the built-up tension, forced proximity, forbidden romance elements, fun banter, fierce protectiveness, and amazing chemistry makes for a great journey for these two. I loved them together so much. The history of their tragic pasts and everything they’ve been through together just adds to the strength of their bond. I can’t wait for what’s next in this world.

Moonlit Ridge #3

Surprise single dad, small town romance…

Kane helps out a woman at one of his bars when she’s being harassed by a guy who just won’t take a hint. He finds an immediate connection with Emery. They share a steamy moment but figure they’ll never see each other again. Especially when he never even got the chance to share his name with her.

So imagine his surprise when she shows up on his front porch and then immediately runs away after looking just as surprised when he opens the door. He tracks her down to make sure she’s not in trouble and looking for help from Sovereign Sanctum. Turns out she’s there to tell him he has a daughter he never knew about. She learned about him because of the letter she found after her sister’s death, naming him as the father.

While they all juggle the situation of bringing his daughter into his loud, loyal, and tatted up found family, they also struggle to deal with their intense chemistry together. As more details come out about Emery’s past trauma, her sister’s information digging, and Kane’s past bad boy ways, it’s clear there’s more going on. Emery is in danger and Kane is ready to step up and protect the two girls he now cares most for in his world.

I just loved this new addition to the Moonlit Ridge found family. They are so great together. And his little girl, Maci, is just a adorable as little Nolan. This series is so good with all the steamy couples, loving family moments, mixed with dangerous suspense and I can’t wait for the next one.

Moonlit Ridge #4

From Hiding to Home…

I loved what a cute little found family they made. We’ve got Theo and his sexy, protective, tatted up hotness. Then there’s Piper who’s strong, feisty, and determined to keep her little boy safe. Finn is absolutely adorable and a perfect addition to all the littles in this series. Let’s not forget about Nelly, Piper’s spunky grandmother, love her.

Theo was just so convinced he couldn’t find love and didn’t deserve it while falling head over heels for Piper and Finn from the very beginning. They all fit in so perfectly with the rest of the crew like they were meant to find each other all along.

I can’t wait for Cash’s story next.

REVIEW: Visions of Darkness by AL Jackson – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Soulmates in Two Realities…

Aria is living in two different realities. By day she’s part of the human world where she can’t help feeling so different from her normal family and those around her. By night she enters the shadow world of Faydor where she fights alongside others of her kind to protect unsuspecting humans from the Kruen who feed thoughts of evil and chaos into their minds.

When she wakes up from battles baring the scars and injuries from her fights, her parents think she’s hurting herself and losing her mind. The one true good thing she has to hold onto is her soulmate and partner in this shadow war, Pax. They are forbidden to meet in the waking world. But when Aria is in danger Pax is more determined to find and protect her than he is to follow along with rules that make no sense for them.

Together they take on a cross-country journey to put distance between them and those out to get them. But there’s a darker more powerful force in Faydor working to come after them in both the waking and shadow worlds. As they work to uncover more history about their kind and how to stop those after them, they also find it harder to resist the pull of their soul bond. Aria must figure out what her newfound powers mean and how she can use them. And they both have to figure out what they are willing to risk for each other.

I absolutely loved these two together. The whole concept of these dual realities and their overlap is so good. The fierce and protective bond between Aria and Pax is everything. This is a great start to this new dark romantasy series and I can’t wait to see where it goes.

Darkness Duet #2

Ultimate Battle of Good vs Evil….

I absolutely love Pax and Aria! The conclusion of their story was so good. These two were meant for each other no matter what they were taught to believe. They were determined to protect each other and the innocents of the world. There was so much action, emotion, love, loyalty, and more throughout this journey. Pax, Aria, and the others are drawn into the ultimate battle of good vs evil. One where not everyone will make it out alive but one worth fighting. I loved this duet so much. Great story and worlds.
