Time to shake things up even more…
I absolutely love this series full of badass women and the men who support them. I was so excited for another book in this series and once again Candice did not disappoint. Jinx took a bad situation that left her a double amputee and didn’t let it drag her down. She took control and became a total badass bounty hunter ready to take on anything and anyone. Even though she certainly didn’t need a man to fix things for her, she found an amazing bond with Splinter, Eightball, and Knight that lead her to her new found family. Their relationship build into something great and lead to quite a few shake ups in the MC. I can’t wait to see where this world goes next. I’m so here for it.

Something special…
The story of Zig, Oz, and Salem is a great way to kick off this new Apex Tactical series. When Zig and Oz sign up for the rescue mission of pulling Salem out of a dangerous situation with the cartel they felt there was something special about her right away. They just had no way to be prepared for just how special she really was. These twin brothers do everything they can to protect her while both falling for her at the same time. Action, danger, spice, and chemistry. This is was great read. And it was fun to see Luna and her guys again from the Underestimated series. We’re left with a bit a cliffhanger that serves as a great leadup to the next book.

The harbinger…
This second book in the Apex Tactical picks up right where the first book left off. When Astrid takes the risk to travel all the way to the Apex complex in the hopes of warning people she’s never met of a tragedy coming their way she’s prepared for them to be skeptical. But she has no way to prepare for just how protective the Apex guys are of Salem and what she now means to the group. Because Astrid can see the tragic deaths of people around her, she’s had to deal with a lot of harsh treatment and chose to keep to herself after way too much unwarranted abuse. But by taking this chance on sharing this latest warning she ends up finding something special with not only Slade and Jagger but with the whole Apex family. The journey is definitely not easy but well worth it. Great read! And of course we get another great tease right at the end for what’s coming in the next book.

Shocking revelations…
Book three in the Apex Tactical series might just be the most intense and most shocking one yet. Everyone was in for a shock when Avery turned back up after disappearing four years ago. Her husbands, Creed and Hawk, believed she just up and left them but when she shows up and takes a bullet for Creed everyone starts asking questions. Evander is determined to figure out what really happened then and why Avery is back. E turns out to be her biggest ally. Especially when she starts helping them unravel layer upon layer of what’s been going on behind the scenes and from within their own organization. Creed and Hawk have a lot to make up for to try and win Avery back while Evander is ready to do whatever it takes to make sure she’s happy. So many secrets and mysteries start coming to light in this book. It keeps you guessing and craving more. The twist at the end will have you ready to grab the next book when it comes out. I can’t wait to see where this series is going to go. It’s really getting good. Great story, characters, and overall world-building.

Wise beyond her years…
The fourth and final book in the Apex Tactical series picks up where we left off at the end of book three. When the truth comes out that Lara’s father is non other than the twisted mastermind behind everything gone wrong lately, some have their doubts as to where her loyalties lie. Even Crew and Wilder, who felt a connection with her from the moment of her arrival, start to question her motives. All Lara wants is to do right by her Lost Ones, the children she swears to protect with all she has, and to be free. Free of her psychopath of a father and free to figure out who she is and what she wants. She’s been neglected and underestimated her entire life but she will do whatever it takes to protect those she loves. Even if that means facing her father again.
What a way to end a series. This book and the series as a whole was so good. I can’t wait to see what Candice comes up with next.
SERIES: Raven Souls MC (in progress)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
So excited for this new series…
Amity is a former Olympic athlete now working as fearless stuntwoman. She’s a total force. Her best friend joins her on set as her new personal assistant while she’s working on a new movie project. That same project is looking to film on the Raven Souls MC base where Genesis is gearing up to step into the new role as Vice President.
But before filming even starts, these two have a total meet-cute moment when Genesis has a drunken conversation with Amity’s chest as he stumbles off his barstool. She finds him both attractive and adorable, which leads her to helping him back safely to the clubhouse. The MC doesn’t make the best first impression but she can’t help but to give them a second chance. And she just can’t resist G.
While Amity impresses the guys with her stuntwoman skills, she also gets closer to G. When the movie’s lead actress finds out G works security, she enlists the club’s help against her stalker. G is torn between security work, the club, and finding time with Amity. Trouble comes from multiple directions and their loyalty and skills are tested. The connection between Amity and G grows through it all but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. But these two are just perfect for each other.
This is a fantastic start to a new series. I loved seeing some cameos from characters from the connected Underestimated series. I even caught a little character mention from Sole Survivor. And the teasers for what’s coming with book two has me craving it already. Candice remains one of my top authors and she does not disappoint with one great story after another.
SERIES: Death in Bloom
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Don’t look too closely for a hero…
Ivy is young but determined and headstrong. She’s independent and wants to take care of herself. But when she has a chance run-in with Atlas after everything than can go wrong does, she finds herself intrigued by this handsome stranger. Their paths keep crossing and the interest keeps growing. When she discovers she has a stalker, she finds herself leaning more towards Atlas. She enjoys the intensity, passion, and protectiveness, even if everything is moving faster than she expected.
On the flipside, Atlas is working behind the scenes to manipulate pretty much anything and everything he can. He’s a man who always gets what he wants, and he wants Ivy. She’s not only falling for him, but she’s also falling for the trap he’s set for her. The past comes back to haunt them in ways no one is expecting. Everyone is pushed to their limits, their love and loyalties tested.
Atlas is no hero. He’s a dark and twisted crime boss who makes things happen with no real sense of right or wrong. Ivy is often torn with all her mixed emotions. One thing that can’t be denied is their chemistry. Their journey may not always be pretty, and it certainly isn’t your typical love story. But it is quite the love story after all and a great dark romance read.

Oh the trauma…
Trix has been through so much in her life, that even includes waking up in a body bag after being left for dead. She’s broken but unbelievably strong at the same time. She’s not trying to stand out but trying to survive and move on. And she definitely wants to stay far away from any monsters that trigger memories of her past.
Kenzo is more than just the muscle in Atlas’s empire. He’s a force all on his own. And once he sets his sights on Trix after a chance run-in, he can’t get her off his mind. He’s determined to know more about her and the more he’s around her, the more he wants her.
He’s struggling to work with Atlas to figure out who this Bone Keeper is who’s been digging up graves and leaving bones to be discovered. Even though it’s not their personal graveyard that’s been targeted, they’re trying to find out who’s doing it before anything can be tied back to them. Meanwhile, Kenzo is also doing everything he can to keep Trix by his side and in his home.
Their twisted romance definitely is not of the traditional kind and doesn’t take the typical journey to get there. There’s so many twists and turns, secrets and lies, but also loyalty, spice, and affection. Get ready for some dark and sometimes uncomfortable topics.
Honestly I loved Atlas and Ivy from book one, but after this Kenzo and Trix have taken the couple lead. I loved these two together. And I loved some of the directions their journey took that I wasn’t expecting. Great dark romance read.

The darkest one of the bunch…
Before I even saw the description for this third book in the series, I was hoping it was going to be Pete’s story. I just wasn’t prepared for the sweet driver we loved from the first two books to be a disguise for the darkness that is Hudson, the gun for fire, the assassin. And I’d even go so far as to say he’s the darkest, most twisted of this psycho bunch we’ve grown to love. He’s no hero, no good guy, even if he does have his moments…. eventually.
We learn he has two estranged sons when he gets the call that their mother has been killed in a car accident. He ends up taking in the younger son, Abbot, and their stepsister, Starling, as both are just shy of eighteen and need to finish out their last year of high school.
Hudson/Pete is drawn to Starling from the very beginning, even if there is quite the age gap. And as soon as she turns eighteen all bets are off. It doesn’t matter that she’s currently dating his son. He’s determined to have her even if that involves a little blackmail.
Hudson and Starling are battling their major push and pull dynamic while he’s also working with Atlas and Kenzo to figure out who’s dropping bodies all around. The mystery of numbers carved into them and long forgotten links to the past and seeming random connections has the guys constantly working to figure out who is behind it and who’s their real target.
Honestly I had a bit of a hard time with Hudson’s obsession and power plays with Starling at first. But as their journey evolved and the more they circled around each other the more I started feeling for them. Starling went through so much when she was younger, then while in school, it felt like she needed her own monster in Hudson to have her back. And she deserved the support of this new found family that came along with him.
This story is not for the faint of heart. Hudson is not going to make some big change from his psychotic ways just because he finds this connection with Startling. He stays true to his crazy self and takes on anyone who gets in his way. Even with the hard start this was a great dark romance with some huge twists I never saw coming.

Dark and gritty must-read….
This book was just another reminder of why I love reading Candice Wright books. The story between Nova and Vice was dark and intense, romantic and complex, gritty and passionate. Their relationship is one that shouldn’t be but at the same time is meant to be.
Nova is brought up in the mafia in a way far from typical. She’s trained as a bodyguard and able to handle her own in a male dominated world. A wrench is thrown into her life that causes her to reach out to the enemy. What better way to protect yourself from a monster than by seeking out an even bigger monster to stand by your side?
So many twists and turns that I did not see coming. This book was oh so good. But definitely check the trigger warnings before because this won’t be for everyone.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hauntingly fantastic…
Ok let me just start with how much of a Candice Wright fan I am. But if I wasn’t, this book would have completely tipped the scales in that direction. It was just so good. From start to finish I was hooked.
The book immediately grabs your attention because Rue wakes up to find herself trapped in a shallow grave only to pass out in the arms of a stranger come to rescue her. When she wakes up again she in the hospital but the shocks keep coming. Not only does she discover that she was the tenth victim of a serial killer but the sole one to have survived. She also discovers her memory is gone. Including that fact that she’s become know as the skeptic physic helping the police track down this killer with the help of her visions.
Throughout the book Rue is forced to face an unsure future, not knowing who or what to trust. There’s the friendly, sometimes flirty, cop who found her and the handsome stranger who claims to be her billionaire boyfriend. She feels like she can trust Nathan the cop but she also feels an undeniably magnetic pull to the seemingly dark and dangerous Valen, who by the way is the prime murder suspect.
Their journey is full of danger and mystery as secrets are uncovered and the past is revealed little bits at a time. The passion and intensity is just amazing. Everything keeps you guessing and wondering every step of the way. But nothing can prepare you for the truth. Just wow! This book!
