Not your typical MC story…
This is not your typical MC story and that’s totally ok because these characters and this world is amazing. It’s more about the people and the “why” than it is about the MC itself. There is so much depth and development to pretty much every aspect of this. Finding each other in the pouring rain in a graveyard is not exactly what you’d call a meet-cute but it worked perfectly for Nyla and Mitchell. Everything starts out great and builds. But then Nyla’s world is shattered by none other than the man she has fallen for. It doesn’t stop there because her entire foundation gets rocked. So much of the world around Nyla was hidden from her growing up and when secrets and deceptions are revealed things get intense. Nothing is as it seems. I love that no one in the world of the Unforgiven Souls MC is perfect. Everyone has something they’re dealing with and working to redeem themselves from. This is a fantastic start to this series. I loved the main characters and the surrounding ones. I can’t wait to read stories for all of them.

The perfect grumpy sunshine combo…
I was so excited for Sarge and Joslyn’s story after reading book one in the series. And I was not disappointed. These two are complete opposites and also completely perfect for each other. They both have been through so much and truly needed each other whether they were ready to admit it or not. Their love story evolves in such a great way. You really fall for both of them and it gives you all the feels. This story continues building on what happens in book one. We get answers to some of our questions from that one but are also left with more. I can’t wait to see where this series goes. I thought I loved Nyla and Mitchell from book one but I might just love Sarge and Jos even more.

The bonus epilogue we didn’t even know we needed…
This bonus came as a freebie through Juniper’s mailing list. I was so excited for a chance to revisit Sarge and Joslyn. One of my favorite grumpy/sunshine couples. It’s was fun to see the big tough Sarge nervous about something he was preparing for Jos. And of course some of the other MC guys were there to give him a rough time about it. This was short and sweet and a perfect addition to the series.
I can’t wait for V and Oakley’s book to come out next. Need it!
