The epic conclusion…
What a way to end a series! In this final chapter of the Zodiac Academy series it’s a battle between good and evil. The struggle is on to take power from Lame Lionel and make sure the throne of Solaria become that of the rightful True Queens. Not everyone will make it out alive. It won’t be an easy journey. Be ready for enemies and allies you weren’t expecting.
It’s sad to see this series go but it feels like it finished in a great way. And now I’m excited to see what comes of the new interconnected series set in the same world. And of course to finally find out what happens in the Darkmore series. We even get a tiny teaser for that in this one. Overall it’s definitely a series I would re-read in the future.

Running towards healing…
This final book in the Twisted Roses series is all about running from terrible things only to finding what it takes to truly heal you. Reed is running from an abusive relationship with the man she thought she’d found love with. Mason is running from the past troubles he’s tried to hide. Both of those things bring these two together. They find comfort, protection, safety, and healing between them. As time goes by and bruises fade, they discover connections between Mason’s family he left behind and Reed’s ex who still wants her back.
These two are absolutely perfect together. Mason is this sweet giant with a soft side for Reed. And Reed is a survivor with a determination to move on from her abuse and find herself again. Their chemistry and just everything is so great. I’ve loved this series and can’t wait to see more in this interconnected world.

Funny, Steamy, and All the Feels…
We first saw and felt the crazy, steamy connection between Beau and Blair in their novella, Shameless Play. This book picks up a few months later. They have loved each other since college but couldn’t be together then. Both still have intense feelings for each other but also feel they can’t be together while pursuing their dreams. But Blair can’t turn him down when Beau comes to her needing his help.
So that leads them to Blair pretending to be his girlfriend as he’s forced to deal with therapy sessions on a remote island by his NFL coach after losing the Super Bowl. They’re stuck there with his teammate to work out their problems so they can get back to winning. The biggest problem is that teammate – Colton – is none other than the man he’s also been in love with since they were teens in high school.
But since both guys are top players in the NFL, they can’t just come out as bi. So they’ve been forced to hide their feelings and stay apart. Every time they come together it’s explosive in more ways than one. They realize that the three of them together might just be the perfect match and the missing pieces. The struggle still comes with how or if such a nontraditional relationship could work. They have to decide what’s most important, being together and finding something real or being apart and keeping up an image and career. Can they have it all or do they have to choose?
This book has it all. There’s so much laughter and love, heartache and tears, hopes and dreams, struggles and strength. It was such a great read. I love diving deeper into this interconnected world that Kelly has created. Every time I read a book from her I just want more.

It’s oh so wrong but oh so right…
JJ is the life of the party. Always upbeat, colorful, and going after what he wants. He dances as part of his major at LSU, as his job at the club, on the stage, and in the studio. And he has the most adorable relationship with his grandmother. On the flip side Killian would rather most people leave him alone while he eats lunch at his desk preparing to give his next lecture. His friend circle is small and he hates feeling obligated to attend social events in the attempt to work his way up the ladder to be head of the LSU business department.
But what they say about opposites attracting must be true. It’s only after their one night together that they discover their student/professor connection to LSU. Even though they’re both in different departments some might see that as a bit taboo. So even though they feel there can’t possibly be a future for them, they also can’t keep away.
In this third full book in the LSU world we get to see JJ set his sights on the one man he can’t stop thinking about. Their story got me all up in my feels. Throughout their situationship they each have to come to grips with what is most important in their lives and in their futures. I absolutely loved these two. And they might just be my favorite duo of the series. But don’t you dare actually make me choose!
AUDIOBOOK UPDATE: OMG! The narrators for the audiobook version did such an amazing job. Absolutely fantastic! Their sexy British voices. The variety and personality they brought to not only the main characters but the side characters too. The emotion and passion they brought to the story took it to a whole new level. I loved the story when I read it the first time around but now after listening to this version, I love it even more.

Dark romantasy with all the twists…
Book two in the Diadem series went full-blown dark fantasy and I’m so here for it. Our dear Queen Elaenor went through so much more than anyone ever should all throughout book one. When this book starts out she is fighting to keep not only her sanity but also her life at the hands of her psychopathic husband. She is put through so much torture and struggles but tries desperately to hold on.
Meanwhile behind the scenes there are so many trying to do what they can to rescue her. They know she is important for their future even if only a few know the true extent of that importance. There are so many twists and turns, secrets and lies, love and family, right alongside loyalty and betrayal.
The magical fantasy aspect goes up by several levels from where we were in book one. Elaenor was so sheltered growing up that she had no idea what other countries, peoples, and unique beings existed in the world around her. So as time goes on during this book, we learn about those things with her. We’re right there as she starts to learn more about exactly who and what she actually it.
I won’t give away any twists or surprises because you really have to experience them for yourselves. This is an intense story that left me craving more while also (once again) asking myself what did I just read… and when can I read the next book. Check the triggers and be prepared for another cliffhanger to keep you on the edge of your seat for the next one.

A New Hades and Persephone…
This was one of those books that I just stumbled upon and the cover pulled me in to read the description. It’s a new modern take on the Hades and Persephone tale.
Persephone is the Goddess of Spring only she has no real powers in that department. She’s in disguise as a typical college student working as a journalist. Hades is the God of the Dead who runs a night club and gambles with mortals looking to make a deal. In this world the gods and goddesses have celebrity status as they live, work, and play in both realms.
Persephone finds herself accidently in a contract with Hades where she has to either create life in the Underworld or lose her freedom. Throughout their journey they find ways to bring out the best in each other while exploring their undeniable chemistry.
I loved this new take on a classic story. It was unexpected and great all around. I definitely want to dive into the whole series.
AUDIOBOOK SPECIFIC: The single female narrator did a great job creating different representations for all the different characters. She really brought the story to life. That includes the very passionate chemistry between Hades and Persephone.

Love and Found Family…
When Delilah and her sweet baby girl find themselves kicked out of the car on the side of the road with no money and no phone by her alcoholic father one night, she had no way of knowing she was about to find a new family who would treat her right. Late at night on the streets of Chicago, walking into a bar as a single mother with a young baby to find a phone doesn’t usually work out in the best way. But in this case it so does for Delilah.
Even though Delilah’s father turns her away and disowns her, Lucio Gallo and his amazing family are ready to step up and help – no strings, no questions, no hesitation. She finds comfort, support, connection, and love in the form of this hot, muscled up bar owner. They connect immediately and it only grows from there.
I absolutely loved these two together. This is such a sweet, family oriented romance with plenty of good chemistry and spice to round things out nicely. I can’t wait to really dive into the whole Gallo family world.
