A woman who knows what she wants…

Nia is a woman who knows exactly what she wants and refuses to settle for anything less. And what she wants is a real Dominant. She is a strong and determined woman but she is also a submissive looking for that just right D/s relationship. Nia is tired of these men who are pretenders or part-timers. She wants the real thing.

When her new boss enters the picture and looks at her in that way of his, she can’t help but stare back. And with the way Rome presents himself with so many aspects of what Nia sees as the perfect example of a Dom, she can’t help but be drawn to him. She begins to wonder if he’s actually in the lifestyle too.

While Nia is tired of the posers and ready to settle down with the real thing, Rome has a painful past that’s made him not ready or willing to find love again. As these two work together in this new office dynamic they also find themselves exploring a new D/s dynamic as well. They go through some intense scenes but also some intense emotions.

This was my first WS Greer book and I can say it definitely won’t be the last. I loved how real and raw these characters were. Their journey was steamy, sweet, and emotional. Great book!

Kings of Reina University #1

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dark enemies-to-lovers hockey romance…

Aviva is determined to find the evidence that will bring justice for her brother who was deeply wronged. She will do whatever it takes to make anyone involved pay. She just needs to find the right in to get her closer.

The biggest problem is that her crusade has put her right in the sights of the king on campus, the hockey star Jack Feldman. And he’s not about to let her destroy the life, team, and family that’s he found for himself. He’s not above blackmail to keep Aviva in line and under his control.

The more he’s around her the more obsessive and possessive he becomes. He hates her for what she’s trying to do but he also can’t keep away. And she hates him for holding everything over her and playing these twisted games with her. But really what they both hate most of all is how much they feed off each other’s dark needs for control and submission. It’s true what they say about there being a fine line between love and hate.

Their story is not for the faint of heart. Jack is definitely not your sweet cinnamon roll hero and his morally grey meter is closer to black. But the twisted chemistry between these two is intense. They make each other question everything. This is definitely a true enemies to lovers romance. And not only do I want more of this new series but now I also want to go back and read the interconnected ones that came before it.

PS. Please check those trigger warnings before diving into this one.

Moonlit Ridge #1

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Protective and tatted hotness…

Charleigh finds her way into River’s tattoo shop to get a little reminder of all she’s been through and fights to overcome. Even after they part ways, neither can stop thinking of the other and the mark he left on her.

When River’s little boy takes a tumble, they meet again as Charleigh is the one to help them at the clinic. Nolan has got to be the most adorable, loveable little boy ever and immediately melts her heart (and mine). And it turns out the flower shop owner Charleigh has befriended in the short time she’s been in town is none other than River’s younger sister.

River recognizes that Charleigh is running from a troubled past that is still out to get her. He’s ready to protect her no matter what. And she’s just so tired of running all the time, not truly ready to leave what she’s already found in Moonlit Ridge.

River and Charleigh quickly build a connection via texts playing 20 questions. That grows and evolves to the point of building trust. So when trouble makes an appearance for Charleigh, she runs to River for help. He is fierce, loyal, and protective even if he feels he can’t keep her because of his secretive and dangerous life.

It really feels like fate is pulling River, Nolan, Charleigh, and their whole found family together. These two were so perfect for each other. And no one can resist little Nolan and his absolutely adorable personality. This was a great start to a new series. And this was my first AL Jackson book but now I want to go back and read the series this new one spins off from. So good.

Destiny of a Vampire Princess #1

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Truth vs Manipulation…

Olivia wakes up from a coma with no memory of how she ended up that way. She can remember parts of her past but is left with this feeling that something huge is missing from her memories and herself. One thing she does remember is her upcoming marriage to Rafael that has been arranged since she was young. It’s one of her only duties as princess to a vampire king.

She longs for freedom from her overbearing and abusive parents and hopes that a marriage to Rafael will provide at least some semblance of that. In the meantime she’s grateful to be granted the chance to attend the Academia of Supernatural Beings at least for a little while before the wedding.

But once she’s there she finds herself questioning pretty much everything. Things like what really happened to her before, why she her body feels very disconnected from her fiancé while her brain sometimes tells her he’s her world, and why she is inexplicably drawn to the dangerously handsome werewolf Killian. But also how she could have no memory of the potential war brewing and the rebellion set against her ruling family.

Olivia doesn’t know who or what to trust. And the more she learns, the more she questions. She has to make some huge decisions that could change the course of everything. Be ready for some twists and turns along with a cliffhanger that will leave you shocked and craving book two. This was a great start to a new series. I’m ready for the next one now.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Short dark and steamy read…

Kayce is a curvy college student looking to make some money as a cam girl. And that’s where she meets Graves. From the moment they meet on screen he’s obsessed. But the attraction is definitely not one-sided over time as they continue to meet up and share their dark desires from a presumed distance. He’s all too happy to stand up and protect Kayce when needed. Now Graves is ready to make her his while also fulling Kayce’s dark fantasies. And just because that involves some action in a creepy cemetery does not mean he isn’t up for the challenge.

AUDIOBOOK SPECIFIC: Hmmm… how can I put this? If you’re here for all that steam and spice then… I have a feeling you won’t be disappointed by the very passionately enthusiastic narration for this one. Well done, sir. Well done.

Coded Connections #1

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hello sweet stalkers…

Amelia is a tech genius determined to make it on her own far away from her overbearing and controlling parents. She’s glad to be away from London and working on a secret project that might just change not only her life in Seattle but the lives of so many others. It’s a project that could revolutionize the world of smart home tech and AI.

When she’s tasked with beta testing a new AI system for the top tech guys at her company, she has no idea how much it will shake up her life. OMG – Oliver, Misha, and Grey. Think nerdy hot and just what Amelia needed. The only problem is she doesn’t realize that during the beta testing they are able to watch and interact with her live, at all times. She thinks it’s just her and Jamie, the new smart home AI. And they are not ready to tell her the truth just yet.

These four start building a friendship bond that’s slowly burning into more. Although there might also be some secret longer-running crushes happening too. They have to find a way to navigate this new evolving dynamic between them all while both Amelia and the guys are each holding onto their own secrets. In the meantime the guys continue to watch, analyze, and obsess in the best possible ways.

This is another great read from Blake that I just could not put down. I absolutely loved all these characters and how they worked together. The whole concept behind the tech involved was so good. Be prepared for a cliffhanger that will leave you craving the next book.

Come for Me #0.5

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The unsuspecting bodyguard…

Don’t let Charlie’s small, blond figure mislead you because she’s a total former Marine badass bodyguard. Even while lounging poolside with her friend and movie star client, she’s still on duty. Her friend may be looking for a spicy vacation in Ibiza but Charlie is still healing from wounds and loss.

She’ll have to decide if the charming stranger is something she’s ready for or not. But she’s also ready to step in to protect her charge and any other woman in danger if the worst happens.

Total respect for Charlie. It’s fun to see the dynamic between both her and her friend plus her and her partner on the job. And I love the little teaser of who might just have caught her eye in the midst of her healing.

Raven Souls MC #1

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

So excited for this new series…

Amity is a former Olympic athlete now working as fearless stuntwoman. She’s a total force. Her best friend joins her on set as her new personal assistant while she’s working on a new movie project. That same project is looking to film on the Raven Souls MC base where Genesis is gearing up to step into the new role as Vice President.

But before filming even starts, these two have a total meet-cute moment when Genesis has a drunken conversation with Amity’s chest as he stumbles off his barstool. She finds him both attractive and adorable, which leads her to helping him back safely to the clubhouse. The MC doesn’t make the best first impression but she can’t help but to give them a second chance. And she just can’t resist G.

While Amity impresses the guys with her stuntwoman skills, she also gets closer to G. When the movie’s lead actress finds out G works security, she enlists the club’s help against her stalker. G is torn between security work, the club, and finding time with Amity. Trouble comes from multiple directions and their loyalty and skills are tested. The connection between Amity and G grows through it all but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. But these two are just perfect for each other.

This is a fantastic start to a new series. I loved seeing some cameos from characters from the connected Underestimated series. I even caught a little character mention from Sole Survivor. And the teasers for what’s coming with book two has me craving it already. Candice remains one of my top authors and she does not disappoint with one great story after another.

Celestials of Arcadia #1

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely amazing…

To say I loved this book would really be an understatement. It was so great! If this is how this new Celestials of Arcadia series is starting out then I know we’re in for something special. This enemies to lovers slow burn has everything you could possibly want in your next romantasy read.

Gray is put through so much her entire life and has it so rough even though she is the Kinetic princess. She’s trained to be an assassin for the kingdom with the main goal of taking down her mortal enemy, Elemental Prince Griffin. But these are definitely not what you would typically think of when it comes to fantasy royalty. They are intense powerful forces not to be underestimated.

I’m not going to spoil things for you because I want you on the edge of your seat as much as I was. This book is action packed, romantic, intense, full of secrets and revelations, fantastic characters, amazing world building, heart warming and heart breaking. I swooned, laughed, cried, and felt all the things. I can’t wait to read anything and everything from this world. I still can’t believe this is a debut novel. It’s just that great.

AUDIOBOOK UPDATE: Even though I wish pretty much all audiobooks where in duet style (because that’s my favorite), the dual narration on this one was really good. The narrators really brought personality to the different characters that just enhanced a book I already loved so much. And they really brought out the humorous moments mixed in with all the seriousness of the drama in this world. So good!

Men of Club Triskelion #2

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Swoon worthy second chance romance…

Quinn and Declan have had a connection since they were kinds. Everyone knows Quinn has feelings for Declan and his brothers love tease tease him about it. If only they knew how complicated their bond has been over the years. Even with Quinn’s return from Ireland after years apart, she still fits right in with the Evans brothers.

After the craziness that went down at their family bar, Quinn can’t face going back to work there or working at their club. When Layla suggests Quinn helps out with Declan’s adorable little girl as her new nanny, all the pieces start falling into place.

But with these two in such close and constant proximity, they find it hard to ignore their complicated past and feelings that could change everything about their future.

These two are perfect for each other. They can’t resist each other. And they have the perfect second chance at building the life that could have been. I can’t help loving all the brothers in this tight-knit family and can’t wait to get all their stories in this series. So good!

La Sacra Corona Mafia #1 (11/13)

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Quick & dark mafia romance…

In this fast paced mafia romance we get the story of Chris and Leila as they are ripped apart from each other at a pivotal turning point in their could-be love story. Chris is beaten down by his brother in a cage match that results in him left in a coma for several months and then afterwards shipped off to handle the family business far away. Leila is left not knowing where Chris went and why he never showed up to meet her.

Chris faces the ultimate betrayal from his brother when he finds out he’s made a move for Leila himself with his father’s backing. Meanwhile Leila is being used as a pawn by his brother and father as a way to pay off her father’s debt. So while Chris his finding his place in the family business and making a name for himself he has no idea of the abuse Leila is suffering from. She’s hoping for Chris to return and save her or to find an darker escape for herself. And Chris is working behind the scenes to take back what has been ripped away from him.

This book was very fast paced and short to the point of feeling like vital parts were somewhat glossed over or rushed. The concept was really good but at the same time it felt like I wanted to get more from parts of their story. Chris and Leila clearly had a connection that couldn’t be broken no matter what was thrown at them.
