Book Journal With Me

March 2024 Reading List

For those of you fellow book lovers looking to dive into my own reading list I’ve got something for you. I’ve been adding my monthly reading lists to the Library section of the blog with links to grab the books on Amazon. Most are on Kindle Unlimited (link included) since I’m completely in love with that subscription and it saves me money with the crazy amount of books I read. March’s list is officially updated. I’ll work my way through some of the other months as I have time.

WARNING – The books I read are definitely NOT FOR EVERYONE. Please read any and all descriptions and warnings before starting any of these books. Some of them are very dark and honestly most are pretty smutty. And no judging please! To each their own and all that jazz.

I’ve also started creating book lists organized by authors that I love reading. These lists will be growing bit by bit as I get them caught up. So be sure to keep checking back. CLICK HERE to browse my author list.

LSU #3

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It’s oh so wrong but oh so right…

JJ is the life of the party. Always upbeat, colorful, and going after what he wants. He dances as part of his major at LSU, as his job at the club, on the stage, and in the studio. And he has the most adorable relationship with his grandmother. On the flip side Killian would rather most people leave him alone while he eats lunch at his desk preparing to give his next lecture. His friend circle is small and he hates feeling obligated to attend social events in the attempt to work his way up the ladder to be head of the LSU business department.

But what they say about opposites attracting must be true. It’s only after their one night together that they discover their student/professor connection to LSU. Even though they’re both in different departments some might see that as a bit taboo. So even though they feel there can’t possibly be a future for them, they also can’t keep away.

In this third full book in the LSU world we get to see JJ set his sights on the one man he can’t stop thinking about. Their story got me all up in my feels. Throughout their situationship they each have to come to grips with what is most important in their lives and in their futures. I absolutely loved these two. And they might just be my favorite duo of the series. But don’t you dare actually make me choose!

Reckless #1

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Cillian & Odette…

Another Eva Simmons book that has me hooked. We first briefly met Cillian is Reckless Games while he was working with Adam as head of security. After the murder of his father he’s forced to leave behind his security company to become the reluctant leader of his mafia family. He swears to be different, to be better than his father. When he see’s Odette, the daughter of the man he believes is behind his father’s death, on the stage of an underground auction, he see’s a chance at revenge.

Cillian never intended to settle down with a wife of his own and he especially never thought it would happen because he bought her at an event he’s always been disgusted by. Odette is grateful Cillian’s spur of the moment action saved her from the deal her father made to settle his debts with a man who wants her for himself. But at the same time she fears what her future will be like as the wife of her enemy.

As time goes by both Cillian and Odette find their feelings and intentions changing and evolving. Thing are not always as they seem and there’s more going on behind the scenes. They each have their own reasons for working together to put all the pieces in place for the full picture.

I absolutely loved these two together. Their chemistry was there from the start whether they wanted to admit it or not. So much spice, romance, action, danger, banter, just everything. So good!

Queens of Khula City #0.5

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Spicy mafia age gap x 4…

Angeline finds herself in the hands of four older mafia legends after her father uses her in a bet against them at their own gambling table. His gambling addiction takes it a step too far on a losing hand. Now she’s theirs but she doesn’t make it easy for them. She definitely has a thing for older men and she’s determined to turn the tables in her favor. After all, being with them puts her in a much better place than where she was before.

If you’re looking for a super spicy age gap with not one but four older hot and dangerous men, this novella has you covered big time. Angeline turns things upside down for Digger, Jet, Pony, and Boss whether they’re ready for it or not. She knows what she wants and she goes after it.

This book is the prequel to the Queens of Khula City series and it definitely sets the tone. It was so good and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Queens of Khula City #1

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wrong place & time turns oh so right…

Mallory is an online psychiatrist who answers a late night emergency call. She finds herself speaking to an extremely attractive man in the middle of a drunken crisis looking for help. But when he ends up confessing to his crimes she becomes a liability to the Wildcards. They track her down and take her to see how much she actually knows and if she will share that knowledge.

It’s definitely not ideal for Mal but she begins forming connections to all four guys in vastly different ways. They’re time together is intense and filled with all kinds of ups and downs. They face danger along the way, work through some healing, and realize what’s really important. The connections are steamy and full of chemistry. The Wildcards are determined to make a name for themselves in the dark criminal underworld of Khula City.

I loved these characters and their stories. The relationships and how they vary from instant to growing and building with bits of redemption mixing in are just great. The story was good and left me wanting to see in more in this world.

Queens of Khula City #2

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

She’s not to be underestimated…

The Kings are determined to be the ruling crime syndicate of Khula City which means they need to make sure the Rossi’s know their place. Renata Rossi is made be just another pawn for her father and brother to use. So things shift when a marriage is arranged between Renata and the head of another crime family from Italy.

Renata is looking for a way out and a way to take over even if it means taking everyone else down to get there. While King and his men are looking for a way to gain the advantage. That all comes together when Renata makes moves at the wedding to show her soon-to-be husband how she really feels about the situation and King steps in the snatch her away to use as leverage.

Renata proves over and over again that she’s not to be underestimated and that these men really should be listening to what she has to say. She suffers so much abuse at the hands of her family but remains strong through it all, even if she does have her psycho moments.

Together they all build unique connections and bonds in different ways. Renata definitely keeps them on their toes. And the chemistry is undeniable. I loved this story and am definitely looking forward to what’s next for Khula City.

Tanglewood University #1

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Forbidden age gap with a touch of mystery…

Anne finds herself in a tough situation as a scholarship student at Tanglewood University. When she desperately needs money for a new expensive textbook, she takes the advice of her best friend and roommate to solve her financial problems with just one night in the arms of a stranger. That night she discovers things about herself that she never knew, as well as her attraction to this charming older man.

When classes start back, nothing could have prepared her to face that same handsome stranger as one of her new professors. That shock only intensifies when she discovers a little bit later that he’s also the father of her ex-boyfriend. Neither of those facts change the intense magnetic pull they both seem to feel for each other.

Cue the mystery and danger with the reappearance of a dark secret society back on campus. Ann is left wondering what secrets the Shakespeare Society holds and if she might just her place among them. She’s warned to stay away but as events unravel she’s forced to face the facts that she doesn’t really know who or what to trust.

The chemistry between Ann and Will is intense and steamy for sure. They connect on so many different levels even with their differences and roadblocks. I loved how the tension and suspense built throughout the story. But I definitely did not see that twist coming. This book left me wanting more and more. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hauntingly fantastic…

Ok let me just start with how much of a Candice Wright fan I am. But if I wasn’t, this book would have completely tipped the scales in that direction. It was just so good. From start to finish I was hooked.

The book immediately grabs your attention because Rue wakes up to find herself trapped in a shallow grave only to pass out in the arms of a stranger come to rescue her. When she wakes up again she in the hospital but the shocks keep coming. Not only does she discover that she was the tenth victim of a serial killer but the sole one to have survived. She also discovers her memory is gone. Including that fact that she’s become know as the skeptic physic helping the police track down this killer with the help of her visions.

Throughout the book Rue is forced to face an unsure future, not knowing who or what to trust. There’s the friendly, sometimes flirty, cop who found her and the handsome stranger who claims to be her billionaire boyfriend. She feels like she can trust Nathan the cop but she also feels an undeniably magnetic pull to the seemingly dark and dangerous Valen, who by the way is the prime murder suspect.

Their journey is full of danger and mystery as secrets are uncovered and the past is revealed little bits at a time. The passion and intensity is just amazing. Everything keeps you guessing and wondering every step of the way. But nothing can prepare you for the truth. Just wow! This book!

Soulful Seas #2

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A roller coaster of emotions…

In this continuation we get to see how Sloan and the guys deal with the aftermath of how things went down at the end of the first book. The Jones brothers have a lot to make up for after how they treated Sloan when she finally got the courage to reveal her gift of speaking to those who have died. They realize how terribly they reacted and the groveling begins. And Saylor stays loyal to her the entire time no matter what.

Once more of Sloan’s past comes to light, the guys get a better understanding of just how badly their actions hurt her. Luckily Sloan’s new friends grow even more into her found family and have her back. Even if that means banning the brothers from the bar until they can get their acts together. We also learn more about Saylor’s accident and how that affected not only him but everyone around him.

This book takes you on a roller coaster of emotions. It’s a story of love, family, growth, redemption, loyalty, and never giving up on the ones you care about. I absolutely loved this book and this duet as a whole. Everything, just everything! … Even if I did have my moments of wanting to rant at not only the guys but Blake too at least a couple times. So great! Definitely a must-read.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Debut novel must-read…

I love that this book starts out with a little moment back in time for the prologue. It was such a cute glimpse into one of the main characters and side characters that I couldn’t imagine going without now.

Bree has essentially grown up in the casino life from even before she officially went to live with her grandmother. And that only became a bigger part of her life when her grandmother won big in the casino. Bree went on to become Lady Luck and follow in her mother’s footsteps as a persona and symbol of the Casino. Her relationship with her grandmother is definitely not ideal.

After the betrayal of her childhood friend turned crush, Bree is left in a rough place emotionally. When her best friend Cody takes a job away from town, it sort of forces her back into the world around her she’s been avoiding. Then the endearing Liem comes along and it’s like a new meant-to-be instant friendship. His charming older brother, Vinh, is a huge added bonus.

The connection between Bree and Vinh is oh so good. It felt like they really brought out the best in each other. They helped each other grow and open up in their own ways. He definitely falls first, while she is reluctant to get burned again. It’s such a sweet romance that had me swooning and giggling at so many great sweet moments. Love Bree and Vinh… and Liem and Cody and the Lott parents.

Such a good story! I loved the main characters and the side characters – which I totally want to see more of btw. This debut novel is a must-read for sure. Just ah! So good!
