Standalone Connected to Callahan Billionaires series

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Snowed in but still steamy…

We first met the Kemp twins in By His Rule from the Callahan Billionaires series. Now Hendrix and Wilder along with Noelle are all grown up and attending college. When it comes time for winter break Hendrix and Noelle have plans for a relaxing best friend get away to a snowy Canadian cabin. At literally the last minute Wilder jumps in the car with them when his party plans get derailed.

Hendrix and Noelle secretly want more but at the same time don’t want to ruin their friendship. Tensions are high with Noelle and Wilder sharing a secret that could rock the boat even more. When the three of them get snowed in to their remote cabin, they can really only hide so much. It makes for the perfect opportunity to explore their true feelings and more.

This was a great spicy holiday read. And I loved seeing these three again. Be prepared for lots of fun and heat to keep you warm this winter. There was plenty of chemistry and emotional connections while these three figured out where everyone stood and what they were willing to risk. Great read!

Celestials of Arcadia: Insurgency #1 (11/26)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely amazing!!!

I fell in love with this world when reading A Touch of Gold and Madness and this first prequel novel has just made me love it more. You definitely want to read ATOGAM first to get the most out of this one. As you read you’ll start putting all the puzzle pieces together to get a better picture of what happened leading up to Devolution Day. This definitely won’t answer all your questions just yet and it will even leave you with more. But that’s ok!

This first prequel in the trilogy is set 10 years before ATOGAM when our beloved main characters are in their teen years. You’ll get more insights into characters we saw in ATOGAM and see connections that we didn’t know existed. And just because they are teens does not mean this is a YA novel. There are some heavy topics discussed so check those warnings.

Even knowing that some events were most likely going to happen in this book because of reading ATOGAM first, it comes down to the how and why that just pulls you in. This book was such a rollercoaster journey of emotions. It had me feeling all the happiness, rage, hope, and utter heartbreak that I knew was heading my way. I’m purposely not giving away details so you can experience it all for yourself. And you need to because this is a must-read. I already know this will be a world I will binge read again in the future.

The Jacksonville Rays #0.5

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

(Listened to as part of the audiobook for book 1)

“Seattle is our place.”

Rachel is just trying to enjoy a drink at the hotel bar while she drowns her feelings over the loss of the sport medicine fellowship position she’s lost. Unfortunately an annoying Chad won’t leave her alone. Imagine her surprise when a sexy stranger comes to the rescue by pretending to be her brother.

She has instant chemistry with Jackson as they hangout and talk about this and that. They decide for just one night to explore that connection. No names, few clues, and no future expectations. Things get steamy up in her hotel room. Even though they both know their connection won’t go beyond that night they both feel something more.

The question is will they really be able to stay away. Are they meant to meet again? One can only hope because these two were on fire together.

Sigma Sin #2 (11/22)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Declan and Teal…

Both Declan and Teal are troubled artists in their own ways. Declan is dealing with secrets and betrayals that have recently come to light and he’s ready to clean house, get answers, and seek vengeance. Teal is struggling with her mental health, a haunting past, and her own will to keep holding on. These two have grown up together in the same social circles but have been enemies for the most part.

When Teal finds out her father is planning to hand her off in an arranged marriage she doesn’t want, she reluctantly makes a deal with Declan in the form of a fake relationship to put a hold on those plans. But Declan knows more than he’s letting on. He’s got plans and schemes of his own working in the background. Declan also realizes he wants more from Teal.

Declan is convinced that Teal’s buried memories from three years ago hold answers that he needs. But since whatever happened that night lead to Teal spending time in the psych ward, she’s not as eager to dive into reliving the past. So much is happening behind the scenes. And the more time Declan and Teal spend together the less fake everything starts to feel.

Declan is definitely more monster than hero, but he’s Teal’s monster. He won’t let anything stand in his way of him taking control and setting things right. These two just work even when they’re not ready to admit it. I loved these two together and the journey they went on to get to what was meant to be all along.
